Kevin Wyant spent 33 years with United Airlines, his duties ranged from Stock Clerk to Manager of Material Services, Kevin’s responsibilities as Manager of the AOG Desk / Loans & Borrows were some of his most challenging. Prompted by the multitude of problems and frustrations associated with loans and borrows, he called upon the North American carriers to get together and discuss and resolve these issues. It was decided since the issues were common among all the carriers, it was best to meet and come up with solutions as a group. There were ten airlines in attendance at the first meeting. This was the beginning of the North American Airlines Loan/Borrow Forum.

It is with this spirit of cooperation that each member provides parts assistance and process improvement in order to help each other maintain safe, reliable aircraft and at the same time reducing costs.

Since its formation in 1992, the membership has grown to over 40 airlines and continues to grow. Success of the NAALBF spread and the Forum started to attract attendees from Latin America and even Europe. The European attendees have included KLM, British Airways, Lufthansa and Air France. Continuing to hold regular meetings, the Forum is even more vital today than ever due to the ongoing challenges the aviation industry faces on a daily basis. The 39th NAALBF was held in Miami, FL in April 2014.

The Loan/Borrow Forum is truly an excellent example of “working together” and has proven its value to the airline community.

The European attendees having realized the value and unequaled synergies of the NAALBF have requested Kevin’s guidance in formatting and implementing a like process in Europe. With the full support and assistance of Kevin’s present employer, Aviation Concepts’ President Dean Wood, they have worked together with AF, BA and LH and are all extremely proud to offer the European Airlines this process improvement and networking platform; The European AOG Loan Borrow Forum (EALBF)
